Rogue
Stealth, poisons and picking your moment. Blizzard has not published its rogue changes yet, so this page is short.
Blizzard describes rogues as relying on "a blend of stealth and minor mysticism", and adds that a rogue's allegiance "lasts only as long as the latest contract". Almost anyone can be one: every race in the game except the tauren.
One change that applies to everybody helps here. Hit chance is now a single stat, and Blizzard says that makes tools such as poisons more reliable.
Who can be one
Alliance: Dwarf, gnome, human, night elf, High Order Skyborne.
Horde: Orc, troll, undead, Windshaper Skyborne.
What to wear
Armor: Leather.
Look for: Agility, then stamina or strength.
Weapons: Daggers, swords, maces and fist weapons, one in each hand. In the 2004 guide, Backstab and Ambush need a dagger in the main hand.
Two weapons that are current, and agility on the leather. The gear guide has the rest.
What we don't know yet
There is no Blizzard deep dive for the rogue yet. We don't know what has changed in its abilities or talents, and we will fill this in when Blizzard says.
Stealth means enemies can't see you until you strike. A rogue chooses when a fight starts, which no other class can do as well.

In the 2004 guide
The 2004 guide gives the rogue 9 pages (pp. 138–146): a short story, an introduction, starting attributes by race, ability tables, talents and strategy.
We have no then-and-now entries for the rogue so far.
