Paladin
Plate armour and the Light. In Forever the paladin is on both factions for the first time.
Blizzard wants paladins to work as tanks, healers or melee damage dealers, and has given each of those paths new tools. It has also kept the gaps: paladins still have no interrupt and no way to slow an enemy.
Pick it if you want to be hard to kill and useful to everyone around you. On the Horde, that means playing an undead.
Who can be one
Alliance: Human, dwarf.
Horde: Undead.
What Blizzard has changed
- Seals are no longer used up when you cast Judgment.
- Holy Strike, an instant weapon attack, is learned at level 6.
- Consecration is learned by every paladin at level 20.
- Seal of Fury is a new seal for tanking; while it is active, Judgment taunts.
What to wear
Armor: Mail, then plate later on.
Look for: Strength, stamina, some intellect.
Weapons: A one-hander and shield, or a two-hander. The guide's advice is that a weapon at your level matters more than which kind it is.
A weapon that is current, a shield if you tank or heal, and enough intellect to keep casting. The gear guide has the rest.
A seal is a blessing a paladin puts on their own weapon. Keeping one up used to be a chore, which is the thing Blizzard has changed.
